Job Overview: Celestix Industries is seeking a proactive and technically adept Assistant Manager – Quoting & Engineering to drive accuracy, efficiency, and cost optimization in our custom wiring harness operations. This role will lead end-to-end quotation preparation, drawing analysis, BOM validation, and ERP coordination to ensure smooth transitions from RFQ to production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review customer drawings, wire lists, and technical documents to extract part specifications and prepare accurate BOMs.

• Confirm the availability of parts in ERP and validate manufacturer part numbers or alternatives for non-ERP items.

• Create and manage detailed Excel worksheets mapping drawing part numbers to ERP codes, including quantities per assembly.

• Float RFQs to approved suppliers/manufacturers and manage communications to determine accurate component costs.

• Negotiate technical and commercial terms with suppliers.

• Analyze RFQ quantities, MOQs, and lead times to determine material and labor costs.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (CFT) to identify tooling requirements and optimize manufacturing feasibility.

• Calculate the total assembly cost for each quote, including labor, materials, and setup.

• Monitor and optimize KPIs such as NPR Turn Time, Quote Accuracy, ECN Turnaround, and ERP documentation compliance.

• Prepare CAD-based jig board layouts to support quoting and process design.

• Ensure timely and competitive quote submissions aligned with customer expectations.

ERP & Data Management:

• Create Parent and Child Item Cards in ERP with proper formatting and data structures.

• Enter BOMs and associate vendor data, lead times, and approved supplier info.

• Maintain item linkage and comments to ensure traceability to drawing parts.

• Support Change Notices with appropriate item master updates.

Sourcing & Vendor Coordination:

• Evaluate vendor capabilities and assist in co-managing supplier relationships.

• Resolve discrepancies related to item cards, pricing, and availability.

• Track on-time delivery of components and support sourcing of test fixture parts.

Required Qualifications:

• B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics or Electrical Engineering.

• 5–6 years of experience in wiring harness quoting and costing.

• Proficient in reading technical drawings and BOM interpretation.

• 2+ years of hands-on ERP system experience.

• Proficiency in CAD software for jig board and layout preparation.

• Strong written and verbal communication for supplier coordination and internal collaboration.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with custom wiring harness manufacturing workflows.

• Ability to manage multiple RFQs and respond quickly to customer engineering changes (ECNs).

• Detail-oriented with a data-driven mindset and proficiency in Excel.
