Job Overview: Celestix Industries is seeking a detail-oriented and technically capable Quoting Engineer to support our commercial and technical quoting functions. This role involves close interaction with engineering drawings, ERP systems, and supplier coordination to prepare cost-effective and timely quotations for custom wiring harness assemblies.
Key Responsibilities:
Drawing & BOM Review:
Read and interpret wire lists, drawing materials, and related BOMs.
Identify and verify existing ERP parts; flag non-ERP parts for AVL (Approved Vendor List) verification.
Ensure part costs in ERP are up to date; collect missing cost information from vendors.
Document manufacturer part numbers and specifications where applicable.
Create Excel worksheets mapping drawing part numbers to ERP part formats and quantities per assembly.
Costing & RFQ Coordination:
Float RFQs and gather cost data for components, including lead time, MOQ, and build-specific pricing.
Compute total material and labor cost per RFQ.
Work with engineering to determine tooling requirements, if any.
ERP Management:
Create Parent and Child Item Cards using correct ERP format.
Populate BOM in the Parent Item Card, linking newly created Children Items with relevant drawing references.
Enter approved vendors, part numbers, and cost data accurately.
Update ERP records based on Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
Vendor & Procurement Support:
Address ERP-related part discrepancies (pricing, lead time, stock status).
Help manage vendor relationships and ensure component delivery timelines are met.
Support sourcing of special components like receptacles for test fixture setups.
Minimum Qualifications:
At least 1 year of experience working with ERP systems.
Ability to read drawings and understand basic technical documentation.
Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—via email and phone.
Technical background preferred (Diploma or Degree in Engineering or equivalent).
