Senior Production Engineer

Job Overview: Celestix Industries is seeking an experienced Senior Production Engineer to lead production operations at our custom wiring harness facility. This role is critical in driving productivity, maintaining high-quality standards, and implementing lean practices. You’ll work closely with procurement, logistics, quality, and maintenance teams to meet demanding production targets while mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning & Control

  • Create and execute daily and weekly production schedules.

  • Coordinate with supply chain and logistics to ensure timely availability of materials.

  • Optimize usage of manpower, machinery, and resources to meet customer deadlines.

2. Process Optimization

  • Analyze workflows and reduce production cycle times.

  • Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Conduct time & motion studies and initiate continuous improvement programs.

3. Quality Assurance Integration

  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 standards.

  • Conduct root cause analysis on process failures and implement CAPA.

  • Collaborate with the QC team to ensure inspection readiness at every stage.

4. Team Leadership & Training

  • Supervise engineers, technicians, and operators.

  • Lead training initiatives and upskilling sessions on SOPs and quality practices.

  • Promote adherence to safety protocols and company policies.

5. Equipment & Maintenance Coordination

  • Monitor production machinery for performance and uptime.

  • Plan preventive and predictive maintenance schedules with the maintenance team.

  • Recommend new technology or tool upgrades for better efficiency.

6. Inventory & Cost Control

  • Track inventory usage and control raw material wastage.

  • Collaborate with procurement and finance to manage budgets and reduce costs.

  • Implement systems for material traceability and resource optimization.

7. Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain records for output, downtime, efficiency, and compliance.

  • Generate detailed daily, weekly, and monthly production reports for leadership.

  • Ensure documentation aligns with audit and certification standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Degree/Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering.

  • 4–7 years of experience in production engineering for wiring harness manufacturing.

  • Strong command of ERP systems and planning tools.

  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, and modern production best practices.

  • Proven leadership, analytical, and communication abilities.
