Job Overview: Celestix Industries is hiring a visionary and technically sharp Quoting & Engineering Head, reporting directly to the Vice President, to lead a cross-functional team that bridges customer quoting, prototype development, and engineering execution for custom wiring harness and electronics solutions. This role is pivotal in ensuring accuracy, speed, and innovation in every quote and engineered product we deliver.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Quoting Process Leadership
Lead the end-to-end RFQ process, ensuring detailed and competitive cost estimates for wiring harnesses and electronic assemblies.
Analyze drawings, specs, and customer requirements to create accurate BOMs and labor breakdowns.
Collaborate with sales and BD teams to align pricing strategies with market expectations.
Ensure timely and precise quote submissions and manage change requests.
2. Engineering Management & Technical Excellence
Oversee engineering operations, including design reviews, prototype development, and manufacturability checks.
Ensure engineering output aligns with IPC/WHMA-A-620, ISO 9001:2015, and IATF 16949:2016 standards.
Drive adoption of best practices in design optimization, tooling, and technology integration.
Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing to scale new innovations.
3. Cost & Process Optimization
Identify cost-saving opportunities via material selection, process improvements, and design iteration.
Continuously refine quoting templates and engineering practices based on real-time production and market data.
Ensure quoting reflects accurate material costs, tooling, labor, and outsourced service pricing.
4. Project & Program Oversight
Coordinate across departments to ensure project timelines from RFQ to production are met.
Track key milestones, manage risks, and provide technical guidance throughout the product lifecycle.
Serve as the central point of contact between engineering, sales, and operations.
5. Internal & External Stakeholder Collaboration
Interface with suppliers, procurement, and stores to validate BOM pricing and lead times.
Engage customers directly for design clarification, RFQ feedback, and engineering support.
6. Compliance & Quality Assurance
Oversee adherence to quality standards across all engineering documentation and outputs.
Ensure that all designs, tools, and quotations are aligned with UL, ISO, and regulatory benchmarks.
7. Team Leadership & Development
Mentor and grow a team of design, costing, and quoting engineers.
Conduct performance reviews and provide clear development paths.
Foster a culture of innovation, speed, and engineering precision.
Qualifications:
B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering.
8–12 years of experience in wiring harness quoting and engineering leadership.
Deep understanding of product development, cost modeling, and RFQ management.
Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.
Proficiency in CAD tools, ERP quoting systems, and ISO/IATF compliance.
